Ideal running conditions. Cool at the start, overcast, light

Gradual downhill grades, on the old railroad trail, didn't feel like they

Beautiful scenery. Placed 373 amongst the 471 Marathoners, and 13 amongst the

Light misting rain. 34,000 runners. Warmer than I'd anticipated,
without any of the wind normally associated with bad weather running. Too
many fluid stations handing out too much fluid at a time. 300ml water bottles
and Lucozade Sport pouches. They could have handed out half to one third that
amount each time.( Marathon #27, Marathon+ #38) |

Warm, but not too hot, mid-70's. Clear skies and sunshine. Good
start despite my strained calf muscle. Inner right thigh ached after a while,
probably due to compensating for the calf. Walked a lot of the first few mile
because of the hills and climbing. I think that helped a lot to loosen the
calf, too. Ran about 10 miles with Christina. Finished just a minute behind
her because of steep downhills that I didn't want to risk running too fast.(
